Install

From a fresh server to a running panel

NeXa installs on a clean Ubuntu server. The installer sets up Docker and the panel for you.

Requirements

Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04A fresh 64-bit server (x86_64) with root access.
DockerInstalled by the NeXa installer. Nothing to prepare.
A domain (recommended)Point it at the server; HTTPS certificates are then set up automatically.
A NeXa license keyActivated on the first start of the panel.

Server size depends on your channels and viewers. Tell us about your setup and we will help you size it.

Steps

  1. Get the release

Download the NeXa release for your license.

The release download link is sent with your license. Contact us to get it.

  2. Run the installer as root

It installs Docker if needed and starts the panel together with its database and cache.

  3. Create the first admin

Open the panel in your browser and create the super admin with the one-time setup code from the panel log.

  4. Choose: new install or migration

The first-run wizard asks once. A migration imports a database dump from your current panel in the background.

  5. Activate the license

Enter your key. The panel binds itself to this installation and checks in once a day.

  6. Add load balancers (optional)

In Servers → Add server, copy the shown command and run it as root on each new Ubuntu server. The node appears in the panel within seconds.

After the install

  • Back up the backup key. Backups are encrypted with a key stored on the server. Copy it to a password manager: without it, a backup cannot be restored on a new server.
  • Turn on off-site copies to S3-compatible storage or SFTP.
  • Set up alerts to Telegram or Discord for server and stream problems.
